Ortancis from the Natural Hair Group of Orlando invited me to their “Show n’ Tell” today. These lovely, natural ladies met up at the Seven Sisters Coffeehouse in Winter Park. They used this meeting to exchange tips on their favorite hair care products, methods, and hairstyles.
I got to meet some truly knowledgeable women who were dedicated to maintaining natural, healthy hair. I learned a lot myself!
Thanks for the invite!!!

Must See:
It’s been a long time since I’ve updated the site, but please know I’ve been hard at work with BraidMyHair.net. I just wanted to say thanks to all of the people who have taken the time out to visit my gallery and the encouragement I’ve received in return.
I’m in the process of moving once again, so for the month of March, I will be traveling to my clients’ homes to do their hair. To those of you whom I’ve already visited, thanks for the hospitality!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Hi my name is Marye and I live in Canada, Ottawa,Ontario im 17 years old and ive ben braiding for about 5 years now and its my passion. Im a junior student in high school graduating next year and i wanted to know were would be the best place for me to go to school in the united states what would u seggest me to do . I love the designs you do and for sure when i come to orlando ill call you to do my hair you have great talent and i hope to be as gud a you in the future. I hope to here back from you .
Thanks for the email Marye. I actually don’t have any formal education in hair braiding. Everything I’ve learned is from practice and watching others. I’ve been pretty fortunate to have lots of people to practice on.
I would just suggest that you get in as much practice as possible. Scan magazines for new ideas and try them out whenever you can.
If you are just going to do braids, the class for the license is only two days long, so I know you can do it. Thanks for checking me out!
I received a call today from Larry N. in Pahoke, Illonois. He was so kind in telling me that I’m ‘blessed’ as a braider and suggested that I check out R. Kelly’s hair braider contest.
After checking out R. Kelly’s page, I decided to go ahead and post as many pictures as possible.
When their moderators finally post me, RATE ME! I wish there was a prise for this contest, cuz so far, I think I would win.
Thanks for the LOVE Larry!!! Sorry I didn’t answer your call (I don’t like to answer anonymous numbers)

This scares me man, do guys really think these crazy things when I’m braiding their hair? I hope not!

Her first album entitled ‘Change is Gonna Come’ was released back in 2005. Her voice is a timeless, sweet raspy mix of soul and grace, and one attribute that made her stand out against the rest was her beautiful, full mane of natural hair. Come on, have you ever seen anything like it?!?! It’s gorgeous!!!
Check out Leela Jame’s official site for more pics.

On my wish-list is long, luscious, luxurious hair. Too bad, it still hasn’t happened, but I’d like to think I’m on my way. A lot of women of color have given up on growing their hair out, believing that they just can’t do it. I think our focus should be geared more towards HEALTHY hair instead of style and length. We need to start showing our hair some LOVE and TLC!!
I’ve added a few tips to help you along your journey to healthy hair.
So in all, just show your hair some love, pay attention to it’s changes and reactions to what you are doing. ‘Communicate’ with your tresses so that you can get the result you’re looking for.

Known for her cameo in the Outkast video – “Morris Brown“, this young songstress is truly holding it down for the natural sisters out there. She maintains a funky, up to date style while keeping things natural at the same time and I love it.
A new client of mine (thanks Tammy) mentioned a website I’ve never seen before. I checked it out and from my first look, I must say that I’m really impressed. They have a LARGE selection of colors, textures, and hair types. They even have a MySpace page!
I dug around a little more online and found that this company is based out of Lincolnwood, Illinois. I didn’t find many bad reviews except for one rip-off report from a client that received the wrong color hair in the mail. I also saw a few people complaining about the site’s return policy.
I’ll try and buy some hair from them soon. I’ll tell you how it went!
Have any of you ever purchased hair from this site? Have you been happy with your purchases?
